BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE Previous OF Next THE STATE Previous OF Next MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 116J.013, is amended to read:

116J.013 COST-OF-LIVING Previous STUDY Next ; ANNUAL REPORT.

(a) The commissioner shall conduct an annual cost-of-living Previous study Next in Minnesota.
The Previous study Next shall include:

(1) a calculation Previous of Next the statewide basic needs Previous cost Next Previous of Next Previous living Next , new text begin including reasonable
retirement and long-term care savings, new text end adjusted for family size;

(2) a calculation Previous of Next the basic needs Previous cost Next Previous of Next Previous living Next , new text begin including reasonable retirement
and long-term care savings, new text end adjusted for family size, for each county;

(3) an analysis Previous of Next statewide and county cost-of-living data, employment data, and
job vacancy data; and

(4) recommendations to aid in the assessment Previous of Next employment and economic
development planning needs throughout the state.

(b) The commissioner shall report on the cost-of-living Previous study Next and recommendations
by February 1 Previous of Next each year to the governor and to the chairs Previous of Next the standing committees
Previous of Next the house Previous of representatives and the senate having jurisdiction over employment and
economic development issues.
